Cast Bio's
Lucas K. "Luke" Duke [Tom Wopat]
Undoubtedly the coolest of the two Duke cousins. Ex-Marine.
Unfortunately, Luke didn't get to drive the General Lee very much,
but when he did, he ruled! Rosco never had a chance when Luke was driving.
Always cool and collected, Luke got the boys out of more trouble than he got
them into. Luke had the crazy perm, and always slid across the hood of the
General Lee, like when running to get in the car really fast. Luke
eventually went on to become a sky-diving firefighter, just like in every
little boy's dreams. Tom Wopat recently hosted TNN's Prime Time Country and
has developed quite a singing career. Luke's CB Handle: Lost Sheep #1.
Beaureguard "Bo" Duke [John Schneider]
The young, irrational Duke cousin. An ex-stockcar-test-driver. This guy
always got all the hot babes, too. I think this is because his "look" was in
back then. The good thing about Bo Duke - except for his cool name - was
that he was always willing to jump the General, no matter how great the
distance. He was always yelling when he did it, too! That was pretty damn
cool. If Luke did that more, he would have been the big heart-throb. Bo left
Hazzard and started racing cars. Go figure, huh?? Now, John Schneider is
doing some great stuff. He's a co-founder of the Children's Miracle Network
and the head of FaithWorks Productions, Inc., which produces quality family
films. Bo's CB Handle: Lost Sheep #2.
Daisy Duke [Catherine Bach]
Holy cow, Daisy was like the hottest chick I'd ever seen back then. Baby
got BACK! She absolutely revolutionized the fashion industry with
those "Daisy Dukes" she always wore. She had the ultimate tan, though you
never saw her laying out or anything. She did wash her Jeep quite a bit,
though. Daisy worked for Boss Hogg, at a bar/restaurant called The Boar's
Nest. She hated it, and him, but money was tight over in Hazzard County.
Daisy drove a 1973 Plymouth Roadrunner for about five minutes, till the Duke
boys drove it off a cliff, then she got that Jeep named "Dixie". Daisy went
off to Duke University, where she rode a Harley and other cool stuff.
Catherine Bach did a show recently called "African Skies." Also, she just
had a baby girl named Sophia Isabella, her third child. Daisy's CB
Handle: Little Bo Peep or Country Cousin.
Jesse Duke, AKA "Uncle Jesse" [Denver Pyle]
The uncle of Bo and Luke. While getting on in years, Uncle Jesse
always looked out for all of the Duke clan. In fact, he held everyone
together. It sucked how the young'ns all drove cool cars, like the
General Lee, while Uncle Jesse, who slaved over that darn farm all day
and night, was stuck with that rusty old pickup truck - a 1970s Ford
F-Series. At least it had a gun rack, though, since Jesse was so much into
shotguns. Actually, he did have this big black car called the "Midnight
Runner", which he used to run moonshine back in the day... back when he was
in the Old Time Ridgerunner Association. He also drove "Black Tilly", but
that car was very rarely seen. He was happy in life, I guess, but I suspect
he'd have been much happier with a bright red '50 Ford with the big block.
Uncle Jesse got to drive the General Lee once in a blue moon, and you
could tell he was lovin' it, even though he could barely fit through the
window. Oh, one more thing, Boss Hogg and Uncle Jesse knew each other from
"the good ol' days", when they used to make booze together... But then they
turned into rivals. Sadly, Denver Pyle died on December 25, 1997. Jesse's CB
Handle: Shepherd.
Jefferson Davis Hogg, AKA "Boss Hogg" [Sorrell Booke]
The evil villain on this particular show. Boss's main interests in life
were food, food, money, and food, in that order. In fact, this guy ate so
much wings and stuff, he may have been the coolest character on the show.
Anyway, Boss Hogg was the big-time local business kingpin - actually, Boss
was the Hazzard County Commissioner - who had the police in his back pocket.
He always dressed in all white, and was always after the Dukes boys and
Uncle Jesse's farm. He also drove this long, white car with longhorns on the
front - Limo One, a 1970 Cadillac Coupe Deville - which was also pretty
cool, and could usually be found about 10 miles behind the daily car chase.
Unfortunately, Sorrell Booke died on February 11, 1994.
Rosco P. Coltrane [James Best]
The sheriff in town, and basically the world's worst driver. While it
was kind of implied that he deep-down liked the Dukes, he was forced
into the relentless, never-ending task of catching them. Nobody ever told
Rosco that the General Lee could outrun any car known to man.
FYI, someone told me that James Best is a Julliard-trained Shakespearian
actor. He also hosts a fishing show on a local cable station in the
Lexington County, South Carolina, area now. Oh, and by the way, the "P"
stands for Pervis.
Enos Straitt [Sonny Shroyer]
The bumbling patrolman who took orders from Boss Hogg and Rosco.
Enos was basically a good guy at heart, though he, too, needed a few more
driving lessons under his belt. Enos was probably the only guy in Hazzard
County to openly admit that he liked Daisy. He eventually went off to Los
Angeles to join the LAPD and start his own show. He later came back, though.
Sonny Shroyer recently played Bear Bryant in "Forrest Gump."
Cooter Davenport [Ben Jones]
The town mechanic, and one of the coolest dudes in Hazzard County. He
could fix anything, and was always jolly and happy-go-lucky when strangers
broke down and had to get their cars fixed - something that always took 3 or
4 days, so they would have to stay in town for the whole episode. In the
early days, Cooter had a '76 Ford Torino which rocked, but by the end, he,
too, was stuck with a crappy old pickup truck... and a tow truck. He
probably didn't mind, considering the amount of moonshine he was drinking...
Cooter had the old whiskey still out in the woods, I believe. He also had a
daughter named Nancy Lou. Now - in real life and in the Reunion Movie - Ben
Jones was a politician. Cooter's CB Handles: Sheepdog or
Crazy Cooter .
Deputy Cletus Hogg [Rick Hurst]
Replaced Enos after he left... and then left when Enos came back. Cletus
was Boss Hogg's third cousin twice-removed, but then again, who wasn't
someone's cousin in Hazzard County??
Flash
Rosco's old dog. This basset hound could barely walk she was so old, but
she did get to go along on all the car chases. Probably dead now. Flash was
retrieved from the West Valley, CA Humane Society, and her training was
reported to be difficult, since she was such a big fatty.
Lu Lu [Peggy Rhea]
Boss Hogg's wife. Rosco's sister. Yelled a lot. Also probably dead now.
Actually, she's not... she recently played Grace's ex-mother-in-law on the
TV show "Grace Under Fire." She's also made appearances on "Step By Step."
Sheriff Ed Little of Chickasaw County [Don Pedro Coley]
This guy was the sheriff of the neighboring county. A big, bad,
ass-kicking machine. He always hung out at the Hazzard/Chickasaw border,
waiting for ol' Rosco to chase dem Duke boys his way. Though clearly the
coolest guy on the other side of the border, he had a few things to learn
about the General Lee. The Smokey Bear hat and reflective shades made for
some mean looks, though Sheriff Little never said much. If he did talk more,
I'm confident he would have said "I'm big, I'm bad, and I'm gonna kick your
ass!"
The Balladeer [Waylon Jennings]
This dude always had something witty to say before and after commercial
breaks. More importantly, Waylon Jennings wrote and performed the theme
song. He's from Lubbock, Texas...
